The Japanese battery environmental regulations and measures
The law for thePromotion of the Effective Utilization of Resources (Law No. 48) came into effect since April 1 2001. Regarding to the recycling and reuse of waste batteries, the manufacturer shall be responsible for nickel metal hydride and lithium battery recycling;Small secondary battery packaging products manufacturer should be identified to facilitate recovery;Small secondary battery-powered appliance producers should be conducive to the re-use of resources on product design.

Japan battery industry association also according to the regulations of international standardization of identity system unified the battery logo, as shown in figure:
