1 Canada

Canadian environmental regulations related to mercury-containing batteries provides specific targets to reduce the amount of mercury used in the battery:
(1) Hearing aid zinc-air battery maximum allowable mercury content of 40 mg / Ah;
(2) Cylindrical battery maximum allowable mercury content was 0.02% by weight of the battery;
(3) Buttons or coins alkaline manganese batteries maximum allowable mercury content of each cell does not exceed 25mg.

2. Mexico

Mexico has also developed a voluntary battery standard to limit the battery containing lead, cadmium, mercury (PROY - NMX - AA - 000 - SCFI - 000). The contents involved sampling methods, identification, handling measures and certification standards.
NMX main target products are battery and battery pack containing harmful substances. The content of harmful substances in the carbon-zinc and alkaline batteries or battery pack exceeds a certain limit values: mercury> 100 ppm, cadmium> 150 ppm, lead> 200 ppm, button batteries mercury> 25mg / a)is considered to be harmful. In addition, batteries or battery pack in the list of Chapter 31 control standards by the Mexican waste (containing mercury,cadmium or lead) or the inclusion of hazardous waste standards in Mexico (NOM-052-SEMARNAT-2005)is also considered to be harmful. For harmful batteries should the necessary information in the packaging, instruction.

3.Argentina

On January 24, 2007, Argentina announced button batteries, environmental and sustainable development for prohibition and certification requirements. According to the "requirements", nationwide ban on production, assembly and import of Cylindrical and diamond carbon zinc batteries、alkaline manganese batteries, and mercury> 0.0005% cadmium> 0.015%, lead> 0.200% battery.

4 Australia

Australia has passed a law to prohibit the use of mercury in battery in 1990.

5. Tai Wan

Taiwan has enacted "mercury dry cell ban restricted policy", Since September 1, 2007. All dry cell batteries sold in Taiwan are required to have the “Four-in-One” recycling symbol and the words, inChinese characters, which interpreted mean “Please recycle batteries.” See Figure below. The “Four-in-One”recycling symbol must be printed in any solid color (monotone), must be square in shape with each side not smallerthan 0.5 cm in packaging and 1.5 cm in user manuals and product literature. The recycle symbol and words shouldbe placed in one of the following locations only, using this order of priority: 1) on the battery, 2) as close to thebattery as possible, 3) on the cardboard packaging of the field replaceable unit (FRU), 4) on a flyer that goes withthe battery, 5) on the Product containing the battery, or 6) the symbol and words should appear in hardwaremanuals.

6.Hong Kong

The battery only needs to meet the applicable IEC standards.

7.South Korea

On July 1, 1996Korea requested the content of cadmium less than 10 ppm in imported batteries, imported batteries required to achieve mercury-cadmium-free requirements. In 1996 South Korea requested battery of the mercury content is less than 1 ppm.
